Word's application object might like a .Quit, followed by releasing all object references to it.

The Office2000 documentation, part of the MSDN, has the entire Word2000 object model in it. Try the topic Word 2000 object model in the Index tab of MSDN. There are examples here in the FAQ and Files (at a minimum, download #542 Word Basic argument positions and #854 Word 97 Constants), the FFC contains some samples like the MailMerge class, there have been a ton of articles in FoxTalk and FoxPro Advisor, and any number of good texts that cover programming Office using VBA. The transition between VBA and VFP isn't overwhelming in most cases.
