I think a lot of the game manufacturers put in that check cause they know their stuff won't run under NT. Try to get Win 2K you might have much better luck. I heard a rumor that a lot of people want their company to upgrade all their Win NT workstation to Win 2K so they can play Quake.

the simpliest solution for you now is to do a dual boot with 95/98. That's what I have set up at home, it works great.
