I would first check with your cable modem provider to see what they recommend, if its possible (with nothing extra). My provider here has a cable modem configuration set up to allow up to 8 workstations hooked up at once using the same modem and a hub. This works great and there is no slow down until you get to around 4-5 machines at once, and creating heavy traffic. LOL
