Yep - send out the metadata, run the Update method of the SDT classes, and it builds the whole thing there from scratch. better, it builds them with the right paths, and if you create >1 each in it's own folder, each references the right tables.
If the DBC changes, send out new metadata, run the update, and it updates the DBC including changes of data type, addition/deletion of fields, changes to views, views in tables that had changes, and makes all needed changes without losing data. the only thing I've had to add code to do is where I had added a new surrogate key to a table; it had to be added to the table before running update because you had to load up unique values.
