For images, it's easy to include an ...tag without a path: then you just distribute the GIF to the same directory that the user is viewing the report from. This works surprisingly well, once you figure out how to set it up properly....

You can, and also add a Java applet or Flash Animation or Cascading Style Sheets,..., but I think this way is very by hand, see the situation: we are asking for reports to html and you say: learn html adnd do by yourself! I think is not too much what we are asking for (well not to you to MS). Why not have a MS solution like hotsend or acrobat?
Imagine that in a client I have 267 reports, before converting this by hand to an HTML format I prefer suffer any kind of tortures! LOL in Acrobat just say "print to".
