I'm not sure what your point is about the clipper set filter. SET FILTER wasn't just a pain, it was an entirely unworkable solution. And, it was *never* used where I was working upon pain of being strung up.

So, I believe my point was, a programmer can get a long _fine_ w/o every even knowing there is such a command. That is, of course, my opinion, which is based on my experience and the experience of others I respect.

You would have to show me an example of some coding that was wrong because it didn't use a SET FILTER, and where there isn't a better non-Filter way to do it.
