The only difference is that he's not putting in the extra code to make it conditionally PUBLIC or not, as you are. He didn't see any reason to jump thru the extra hoops.

He did say he released the public at the end of the startup program, so it would not be visible form the command window. Besides, in my example there is only a public if I am debugging, there is no public variable in runtime.
