>Thanks. Along those lines I just spent some $$ purchasing, installing and upgrading my computer equipment at home where I do my studies/prep/side consulting. I hate like crazy to not pay a bill off with that $$ but if I'm going to keep up I really need to be able to test some of this stuff and quite frankly, I have a lot of ground to cover and make up.
Jeeeeeesh, don't remind me. I gottah get a new box and some other stuff. Been trying to wind-up a project... the last 2% - know what I mean?
>It just baffles me that people seem so afraid of the new technologies some times. If you look as FoxPro and its roots I think it's unbelievably amazing that so many people make so much $$ on a system that was originally intended to manage what could be called an amateur bookie operation. *bg* (Tell Jeb I'm just kidding. *g*)

>>>Jim, This is, to me, the essential point. Quite frankly I doubt that any of us would be able to determine when an appilcation was ready to migrate from the desktop the the backend but my take is right along with your point - I'd better be thinking about it NOW!

>>>For me this falls under the heading of "Continuing Education", something I doubt I'll ever get away from if I ever expect to stay fresh and current in my profession. It's the same for doctors and other professions as well. I'd get real worried if my plumber told me that since my house was small all I needed was hemp and molten lead to seal the plumbing together. *g*
