>I don't really understand why did you post this speech. You know what, if you're already here, I want to tell you something. This whole thing bears not technical but religious character. Why? Just thinking about this: few adult persons with many years of Fox experience seriously discuss SEEK command. What technical merit can they take from this discussion? Sorry, but I, you, they, we etc. know these things (including p-view, SQL, etc. etc.) up and down. That's just preaching gospel, creating symbol of faith (10 commandments...), calling adherents, fighting infidels and banning heretics.

Ed,

If you would spend the time to read the whole thread you would find out that SEEK is one minor statement that was made by someone in the context of discussing the language aspects of VP that should be avoided, adn you would have seen that most us objected to that statement. But you haven't read the whole thread (probably because we didn't quote it all back in every message making you scroll for 5 mintues to find out what the writer had to say.)

Instead you decide to jump in and make cursory statements and challenges and then cop an attitude when you get answered. You know what, if you can't stand the heat then stay out of kitchen. If you can't carry on a technical discussion then don't start one.

Your judgemental attitude about what is valuable and what is not is irrelevant to the conversions of others. I, and I am sure most of the others in this thread, don't really care if YOU find it helpful or not. I can imagine that discussing the finer issues with coding in VFP is not of interest to you. You don't read journals, you don't attend conferences, you don't attend users groups, you don't seem to do any of the usually accepted things that one does to keep up with their profession. I, personally, have no problem with that decision on your part, but I do have a problem when you start to tell people like Ed Raugh that he is discussing something of no value when you don't even have a clue what the thread is about and you demonstrate your ignorance in your very message that tells Ed the discussion if of no value.
