I hate to tell you this, but this was a friendly conversation until you started making snide remarks and claiming that the discussion was totally without value.

You may need a slight bit of education though, SQL Server and SQL are NOT the same thing. Client/Server and SQL are NOT the same thing.

And as fior your 5+year app lifetiem, what do you do when after 2 years the client asks for internet capabilities and your data management approach completely precludes adapting the existing application adn requires that the thing be totally rewritten from the ground up.

If you answer is, "That hasn't happened yet", then I am sure glad I am not paying you to be an expert and advise me on these issues.

I might also suggest that before you post a challenge to someone that you first find out what they are saying.
