Ed and Peter,
The title of the thread is "Commonly misused and abused VFP features" It is not "Things you should never do". It is meant to discuss the common mistakes in using VFP that are prevalent in an effort to forewarn new folks of where the pitfalls are.
In my experience I have seen many situations where a UNIQUE index was misused. I have encountered many people who do not understand what a UNIQUE index does. Those expereinces got it on my list of the 10 most commonly misused or abused features of VFP.
