>BTW, I have no idea why Michel has decided to do this. If I had been asked my advice would have been to not do it.

My $.02 U.S. was that this partly came about because of the resentment evidenced earlier about MVP's getting "free" PUTMs. One salient point in all that was that there _are_ some people who are obviously high quality posters who don't happen to have the blessing of the MVP program.

My suggestion was for the UT to have its own recognition program, which would allow Michel to acknowledge and encourage the people who make this forum strong. Frankly, I don't think the PUTM needed to be an automatic bennie to all MVPs.

IAC this is Michel's business. As a business person the question I would have asked myself, if I were in his position, is this: "does the free MVP PUTM benefit the business?" If so, then keep it, regardless of whether some people complain about it. If not, cancel it, and let people make the decisions _they_ need to, based on that. I believe that some form of free PUTMs for the best contributors makes great business sense. But, then again, it's not my business.

IOW, I was only impatient that the decision did not seem to be made on business reasons, but rather resulted from some vocal jealousy.
