John, I always thought this, but it's been pointed out by several people, with numbers to back it up, that this is not necessarily a good thing. I've seen numbers showing the exact same query times with and without a deleted tag, one query reporting partial and one full optimization. The good practice is to check your query times and optimize your indexes for speed, rather than relying on SYS(3054).
