Second, I am not directing the comment at any one person, so get off that soapbox right now. Rather, the comment is directed toward the govenment...

Third, as far as the fascist comment goes... here is how Fascism is defined:

A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.

As far as Quebec is concerned, there is quite a bit of nationalism, and as far as socioeconomic controls are concerned, the whole French Langauge poice thing????? Please, give me a break. If that does not smack of a dictitorial form of government that is imposing some stringent socioeconomic controls, I don't know what is..

Is it on the same plane as Mussolini or Franco?? Of course not.. Is there racism??? That is everywhere. Censorship??? Making people use a specific langauge could be construed as a form of censorship I suppose. Terror??? In the classic sense no. But, from what I have heard, the government can use some rather strong-armed tactics...

And by the way, Quebec, last I heard, is not a country.....yet....
