Whoa. Tell me Mike, how can static text that appears on a screen after being sent over a digital wire have a tone and make a sound?!?! It doesn't, it's basically a flat means of communication. And being a flat medium, just like the mirror on your car, things are not always as close (meaning close to the heart) as they appear.
IMHO, sooooo many people are guilty of trying to read emotion based qualities (i.e. tone, sentiment, attitude) into messages that do not have attributes for those types of qualities. If less personal interpretation was done in this regard, and we all started to realize that an online forum is NOT the same as a
town hall meeting, we wouldn't have all this mess.
