I haven't worked in FoxBase nor in Unix (is it really FoxBase, or FPU 2.5?). But does your version have the LUPDATE() function? If it does, does it return the correct date except with 19xx as the century? In this case you can create a temporary file, get the date, add 100 years (or make it 02/29/2000 if its empty) and delete the file.

Can you shell out to call a command line DATE command?
