THe only problems I know of are with the view designer and a couple of relatively insignificant VFP quirks. I wrote eView to overcome the first, and the second haven't caused me any trouble yet.

As for speed- views are as fast as SQL, but maybe not quite as fast as some xBase methods (I haven't done a head to head- I'm really not qualified to, I rarely use xBase type commands). There is no sacrifice, however, my apps are as fast as the next guy's.
