I know there is a VSS database compatibility between version 5 and 6 of VSS. I do not remember if there is a similar issue between VSS 4 and 5. When installing, did you get a message about maintaining compatibility with VSS 4.0 databases?

And, what if you created a new VSS 5.0 database? Is there anything precluding you from doing that.
