Are you issue a Set Order To???? If so, are you positioned in the correct workarea? Alternatively, you can use code like this:

Set Order to x In y

Or, do you have code like this:

Use x Order y

First, verify the workarea you are in. Most likely, the index exists, you just need to tell VFP which alias to use...
