I believe (although I might be wrong) that when you specify the location as FILE: when you add a new printer to windows, the default extention will come up as .prn, even if the file is in say pcl format. Why not test it and see what occurs? that is to say, generate the file, and then send it to the fax server with your own fax number and see what you get back.
