>My understanding is that before calling a VC++ DLL, I need to use the DECLARE - DLL command. However, can I declare a VFP DLL in the same manner or must I use the CreateObject() method (as the Help states)? Likewise, could I use the CreateObject() method to instantiate the VC++ DLL?
If the C++ .DLL creates a standard .DLL, that uses standard C calling, then you access it using the DECLARE...DLL form of access. If it's a COM object, then you instantiate it as a COM object using CREATEOBJ(), and address its mehods and properties just like any other COM object. COM objects are accessed in the same fashion (basically) regardless of the language that they're implemented in.
Any component that you create with VFP will be a COM object, and would be instantiated using COM-style access. There is no provision to create a VFP .DLL that can be accessed using c-style calling procedures.
