In short, I did read your earlier comments, and I agree with you completely. I have been trying to get at the info for informational reasons only (it gave me an excuse to start playing with the struct class) :).

Personally, I still think the best solution (if possible) is to rework the design so as not to have to rely on the printer's status.

I had thought the thread was dead, but when it started up again I just thought I'd throw out what I had.
