Pablo,
>I don't know where it doesn't work. I have w2000 (NTFS) and a NT 4.0 server with 2 partitions which I map as Y and Z (\\server\c$ and \\server\d$). All of them show their serial numbers when I run this.

My case:

Windows NT Server
2 drives C and D

Net:

Windows 98 and the server drives mapped as K J (\\server\c$ and \\server\d$).

Tried on the Win98 Machines and your code don't worked, Tried on the Server and only worked with the C drive.
