Here's an update on the label/dot matrix printer situation.
When we added a generic/text only printer driver to WinNT print manager the option "continous feed/no form eject" showed up in settings. We can select that, print a label, and the printer stops without paging!
If we repeat the same print job again, the setting reverts back to "letter" and the printer pages on 11" as before.
If we can make "continous feed..." the default, it should work OK (I think).
I've seen some threads that imply that setting a custom page size is easy, but I don't see anything like that in NT. Is that an option in 95 or 98?
We tried hacking EXPR to set pagelength (as shown in another thread) to different lengths, but this has no effect. Does anyone know the syntax to use in EXPR to set printer to "continous feed.."?
I suppose we could create a low-level file in a DO loop and pipe that file to the printer through DOS (! file.txt>LPT1), but that shouldn't be necessary, right?
