I was at the same point when I started with the grid in this way. It's very frustrating, though, when you've been waiting several revisions of your development tool to do something about the problem with no solutions viewable on the horizon. <g>

I'm assuming that you're wanting your information editable and not just viewable? If the latter, then you could just present the information in a formatted textbox of some kind so you can get the info up there in the least space possible. I'm sure you already considered this but I thought I'd just throw it out there. After struggling with this Transportation Companies' grid problems, my first major revision to another app I did for a dispatch center, I left the grids out. I couldn't afford ANY problems with it and decided to make my own 'layout grid' that simply shows status', times, vehicles, routes, etc. in an optimized layout. Of course, it doesn't allow direct editing... just by clicking and then bringing up a form to do the edits.

Good luck on your quest and I certainly would like to know how your project is going. It's always comforting to see other people having the same exact headaches that I've had ("Misery loving company" and all...).

>You got it. I have a bad habit of getting myself into situations where I am pushing the envelope on the available controls (like an appendable child grid for direct editing). But this one is really starting off rough. Thanks for the insight, will let you know how it is coming.
