The last few days of angry threads have seen very few messages from sysops, mostly because ANY statement by one of us causes a new round of angry comments on both sides of the question du jour.

Certainly many of us have tried private emails, phone calls, etc., but that, too angers the people who are involved and can cause more problems. The epitome of the vicious circle.

>Hi Erik. I have been reluctant to express my opinions on this subject since this fall. Twice I spoke out about this subject and twice I was inundated by name calling and acusations by an individual. Others jumped into the thread and for the most part were critical of my call to moderate the thread. Needless to say I am a bit gun shy these days. In addition commenting on threads or defending oneself seems to fuel the fire even more.
