Thanks for your response. Well, this certainly is going to cause some Y2K problems; when an ASCII file is used for input (in this case an ASCII file generated by a Progress DBMS), the "disecting" program (the program that disects the data stream into manageable records (a low level file program) for the Fox DBF file, will never "get this right." The incoming data stream looks like this: ...01/01/00..., and now I will have 2 options: tell my Progress people to send me 01/01/2000, or change the disecting program to add 100 to the year(input) data before replacing te value of the date field in the Fox DBF.
I'm going to opt for the second choice - my Progress people don't know much about Y2K!!!
In all seriousness, it looks like we are almost "next door" to each other. I run the Technology Services Group of a computer distributor. Tell me what you do; we might be able to do some business together.
