I will put my Questing by giving an Example.

In VISUAL FOXPRO
1) To set Main Window Caption u have to give the following.
_SCREEN.Caption = "SOME HEADING"

2) This can also be set indirectly by issuing the following
sWinName = "_SCREEN.Caption"
&sWinName = "SOME HEADING"

There is any way in VISUAL BASIC by which u can indirectly
set/access as shown above [in 2)
