I fought the idea of using a framework, but I picked up a contract where they needed security for form/field/menus, audit trails, etc. The only way to do it in the time frame was through a framework. I quickly settled on Promatrix and was shocked at how quickly I got the app up. In 40 hours time, I had full security and audit trails for an application with 5 forms, 5 data tables with relations, 10 or 12 foreign key lookup tables for combo boxes, and several reports. And that included the learning curve for the framework. The client was ecstactic. Put maybe 40-60 more hours into fine tuning some stuff and left them with an app that worked. I'm sure there are other frameworks out there that would give the same results, but I was very impressed with Promatrix support and the user community. Best of luck to you!
