One other idea I had was to take a normal grid and stretch the row height to something like 35. The text will be centered in the grid. Between each grid row you can create a container or something that sits on top of the grid (with a height around 20-21). It runs the entire width of the grid. Change it's background color to the same color as the Bg of the grid and center it between each grid row. Now you can add things like a label w/the truck number for each truck assigned to the job that appears in the grid.

I'm not sure about the overhead of doing this (so scrolling might be a little tricky), but it gives the illusion of another row in the grid and it's not limited to the same number of columns as the grid.
