While the books you listed are all good, I can't help but stress you get him some formal training. Be it a lecture-based curriculum like AppDev (
www.appdev.com) or a hands-on curriculum like we offer (
www.takenote.com), I think you'll find a weeks worth of training is worth 6 months of "trying to figure it all out" with books. I think you'll find all the VFP trainers up here will agree with me on that one...
