After a nice phone call today with Michel, we have reached a level of quiescence I am glad to say. If the past few weeks were pain, today was a catharsis.

After talking with Michel on the phone today, I think it is safe to say that he understands my viewpoints better, and in return, I understand his viewpoints better.

It is also important to note that my rant reflected my opinions as opposed to statements in fact.

In my rant, I kept stressing the concept of community. In the past few weeks, while I do believe that I have made some valid points, I am ashamed to say that the way I have expressed these views has been a divisive force in the community.

I hope when it is all said and done, I can be evaluated on my prior 5 years of contributions as opposed to the past few weeks.

No more conflict, no more dissention. I would like to get back to what is good, helping others in the community. Sure, there will be differing points of view. The phone conversation reminded me of a form of communication that is often bypassed in favor of e-mail. It is amazing how productive that time was.
