I've had some positive experience with a fax server called ZetaFax (
www.equisys.com I think, or maybe
www.equisys.co.uk). It has an excellent API and is a true server (doesn't have to tie up time on the client rasterising documents etc.)
The way I use it is to put an ASCII submit file into a directory that the server polls and it reads all of the relevant info from that file including cover pages, recipient, and pre-rasterised attachments (price lists, brochures and so on).
