I created a form, placed a pageframe in it, placed a container in the page and wrote wait window in the container's destroy event. I ran the form and used the X close box to close it and I got the wait window.

How are you closing the form? How are you creating the form? Have you used the debugger to see if the form was actually destroyed or not?

The only way I know of that the container's destroy would not fire is if something stopped the form from being released from memory.
