Thanks for your input. As you can probably tell, many of the suggestions have already been implemented. (Thanks Michel!!)...

It turns out the gray background does work. It was the background graphic that gave the place a dungeon look!!

Now, here is another question....

The bottom left frame has quite a bit of space... What would you put there?

Here is my vote: Customized links...... And yes, I would make this a PUTM feature. In your system profile, you could set up any custom links. Maybe a limit of 10 or so....

If you want to open the link in a new window, you can simply shift-click.

The way I look at it is this:

1. Valuable screen real-estate is not going to waste...
2. Low bandwidth (no graphical junk...)
3. Value is provided to folks through customization..
4. Regardless of where you are, you get to keep tabs on what is happening here.
5. You don't clutter your desktop with a bunch of IE instances....
