I think you are, Larry. The two issues are disjoint. John had issues with what went on here on UT, and took an aggressive and confrotational approach to things. To be kind, he was a real schmuck, but he had a point, and from my POV, he was reacting to a whole series of things that really annoyed him, and he got his issues on the table. His approach may have been less than tactful, but he was honest about his POV, and in the end, swallowed his pride, made an open apology, and came back. And the first thing he did was made a series of very positive suggestions that, once all the kinks are worked through, will improve the performance of UT and make things easier for all of us.

I'm glad to have him back here.

I see nothing wrong with John's effort with the UI. Rather than bitch and moan, he did something positive - he went to the effort of showing what he'd like to see, and invited people to comment on it. And apparently, Michel sees some merit to his suggestions; the new UI is a definite improvement from my POV. I'd still like a twit filter, and the ability to get the message base as XML, but this is a definite improvement.

If you have a better idea, why don't you put together a clear example of the changes you'd like to see, submit them to Michel, and put up your idea in a UT document, inviting others to comment.
