Eric and Andrew,
My thanks to both of you for your help. I have used the KEYBOARD command for years and it works great for many things but won't work here. My security system only includes menu selections that the user has rights to so the menu will be different for each user. The sys(1500) command is the only way to get this one to work. I wasn't clear on how to use it and your example is what I needed.

As for "Windows standard behavior" I believe that although a standard interface is very important, any time you can make life easier for the data entry people then standards come second and ease of use comes first.

Eric, I hope I haven't offended you. I do appreciate your help.

Thanks again.
