I don't think that there's a way for any application to do it because of the nature of the OS. For example, if you run Scandisk with a thorough setting, the entire environment is still available. Such things as closing an open program can force scan disk to re-start. It's one of those things that show have a warning label with it< g >. Now if it were possible to create a system modal application, something like scan disk (or defrag) would be the logical choice to be that way. Unfortunately, and I say that based on personal experience, they're not.
