>I am running VFP 5.0 with visual studio service pack 3 - yes I have a HP LaserJet 4 plus as my default networked printer. Any division by 0 causes VFP to die without any explanation. it took me a while to figure out as the 0 / 0 calculation is not normally going to occur - I'll have to just stick some code in to catch this myself I guess - unless anyone knows of a fix/upgrade?

The problem will only occur AFTER you've done something with your printer. The HP drivers do not properly reset the Floating Point unit, and can cause havok with VFP. Since you're usng VFP5, one thing you can do is to use a driver for your HP printer that came with Windows, not one supplied by HP. The Windows drivers, do not have this problem. Or check out the KB ariticle that George mentioned for another workaround.
