If the grid has focus and RelativeRow = 0 you know that the current record is not in the visible portion of the grid. It could be above or below. The only way this happens (other than programmatically < s > ) is when the user sets focus to a grid cell and then uses the vertical scroll bar to scroll that row out of sight.

What, exactly, are you trying to accomplish here?
