>>I have a question about this strategy. Many methods that I create in bizobjs need to send a message to the user that something is happening. How would that be handled? What if an update fails? There comes a time when the UI cannot be completely separated from the bizobj. For instance: if I am running a scan and doing all kinds of processing, I would want to put up wait windows so the user has an idea of what's going on. The most logical place to do that would be in the method where it is all happening. Do you have any suggestions?

Mat,
I believe what Kevin was trying to emphasize was that UI messages should be controlled by the UI and not the business object. At times, however, the most logical place to do that is in the business object, making the separation of the UI and business object somewhat difficult.
