Just to get us both on the same wave length, I am doing research to see how important and how needed optimization of your app is. To do so I am changing the foreground memory given to an APP which sorts through a DATABASE, and records the time needed to do the SQL search. I am looking to collect data on a wide array of desktop configurations. By doing this, I can show on what type of machine is optomization more needed (if needed at all). I would also be able to record system specs of the machine so that I can show what hardware, and software configurations, may cause a machine to need to have optomized software, or not need it.


And Now The ?:
What do u feel is the importance of optomizing your a programs speed?
On a scale of one to ten how much do you feel it is needed to optomize the ram needed (foreground memory)for your program to run?
Do you feel my research is important, and worth persuing?
Do you know of any articles written on a similar, test, or research?


Please answer these questions, and give me any ideas you may have. As a mere high school kid I would be most greatful of your proffesional opinion.
