>I have a table which has several index tags. I set order to certain to one index tag, use seek to find out if the record, if not found, than use SQL insert command insert a record. After table updated, I fail to see the record neither by using browse command nor SQL select statement. However, if I reindex the table, the inserted record appeared. I can see the record either by using browse command or SQL select statement

Is the table on a server? If so, the writes are probably being cached by the drive controller. This makes the table suspectable to corruption. Turn off the write cache on the server's driver controller.
