The rumors of VFP's death are greatly exagerated. I think VFP's role in things is evolving. However, it is clear that MS is supporting VFP, and VFP will continue to be a part of Visual Studio. Is it the best tool for everything? No. But neither is VB or VC.

If VFP is serving you well now, you should have no reservations whatsoever by continuing to use VFP and further, upgrading to VFP 7.
