>That they are. Let me ask you though... Cubs or White Sox? I've always pulled for the Cubs, and not cared at all about the Sox. The Cubs just have that old school tradition about them that's appealing. The field, the announcers (Dontcha miss Harry Caray?), no lights until 1988... just a cool franchise in my opinion.

Being a South Sider, folks probably expect that I'm a White Sox fan. They probably expecially think this when they learn that I grew up almost directly accross the street from where most of the team stayed (the Picadilly Hotel) when they were in town. In fact, I played with some of the kids of the players. This was late '50s early '60s and most players had regular off-season jobs.

Grew up a Cubs fan. The reason being that when I'd get home from my Dad would have the baseball game on TV. At the time, WGN broadcasted both the Cubs and Sox home games, but since they couldn't broadcast night games at the time, and since the Cubs played only day games (while the Sox played both day and night) I turned out a Cubs fan. (I also liked the fact that the Cubs had Ernie Banks and he hit home runs< g >). However, because of my location and knowing the players on the Sox, I didn't turn out like most Chicagoans. Usually, you're a fan of one and hate the other. I do follow both teams, but I'm principally a Cub fan.
