Exactly as Vladimir explained. I'm just providing variables
before the data is saved by the trigger. The information
that goes into the variables are from other tables,
user input, etc. Just return to the alias() where the
trigger is from.

I have read in a few places (as your question implies)
NEVER NEVER NEVER manipulate the current table
in a trigger.

Deleting is the same thing. No deleting is done in the
current table, just other tables. Just return to the
alias() where the trigger is from.
