Prior to upgrading VFP6.0 to VFP 6.0 SP3 I as able to insert a function into the control source of a textbox of a column in a grid without any errors. Now I get "must be a variable and not an expression" The funny thing is there are functions in the other columns textboxes in the same grid (inserted prior to the upgrade) and they work just find. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a switch?? What can I do get around this issue? What I want is a function to return the required info for the column. John
