It involves creating a registry value under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices of type REG_SZ specifying the executable to launch with any command line parameters needed. Under Win9x, this simply means that the program will be started before the Windows Login; it has significant differences in behavior under NT and Win2K.

I'm not aware of any VFP-specific articles on this; I've been aware of this through many Windows sysems programming related publications like MSJ, whitepapers in the MSDN, the resource kits and any of a dozen or two books I have on the shelf at home. It's no magic.
