Once you get your server installed, check out the topic SQL Server Editions in the SQL Server Books Online. It briefly covers the difference between the three editions of SQL Server and the Desktop product.

All three editions of SQL Server (SBS, Standard, and Enterprise) will only install on NT Server/Enterprise. You can install Desktop SQL Server on NT Workstation or Win9x but, the license states that you must already have one of the other three editions installed and using Per-Seat licensing.
