>I am designing my reports using the Foxpro Report designer. But I am facing so many problems with erratic behaviour of FoxPro Report Designer regarding the formatting of my controls. I am thinking of switching to some other report generator module. Crystal reports seems to be the most popular one in the market. Can any body shed any light on whether I can use it with foxpro? How good/reliable it is and things of that sort.

Personally I prefer Crystal Reports over the FoxPro report designer. There is a small learning curve, but you can do a lot more. Crystal supports multiple detail lines and different formatting options. It also lends itself well to web-reporting.

There are multiple ways to access Crystal from VFP. One is an automation server. You can view the commands for that in Crystal Explorer that ships with Crystal Reports. The commands are for VB, but can be used in VFP with a little bit of manipulation.

There are also FoxFire and Stonefield Reporting Tools.
